DLA was founded by partners Lester Evan Tour and Yuji Yamazaki and operates out of New York City. DLA is an official collaboration of their individual practices. Prior to DLA, their offices had designed several projects together and the synergy between the firms encouraged the principals to create a more formal arrangement to expand on design philosophies.

Lester and Yuji have had backgrounds working in high-profile firms which translated into the successful operation of their prior individual practices. The combination of experience within their offices ensure that each project will not only be beautifully designed, but rigorous in attention to client needs, budgets, constructability and user satisfaction.
